Regal Flora for Sketch Challenge 107 … Around the World on Wednesday

Loading

Regal Flora is a stamp set and die bundle, a part of the Regal Winter Suite of products from the Sep to Dec 2024 Mini Catalogue from Stampin’ Up!® I have used it here to create a card for the Around The World on Wednesday Sketch Challenge for October 2024.

Welcome once again to Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop, travelling around the world through every time zone. You may be starting your trip Around the World here or you may have come from the blog of amazing artist Rochelle Laird-Smith. Always excited to see what Rochelle has created.

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop is the brainchild of Angie McKenzie, a wonderful friend and amazing paper artist. My name is Cheryll Miller, and I am so delighted to be a part of this varied and talented group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators.

Sketch Challenge 107 …

This month, Angie has created a sketch for us to work to. Sketches are great when you are stumped for an idea. Feel free to use this one in your creating.

Regal Flora Bundle …

I have used the Regal Flora Bundle today, a new one on my craft desk. Armed with the sketch and the stamp set and die bundle, I chose some colours that I thought would co-ordinate with that amazing Designer Series Paper and just started building the card pretty much exactly as per the sketch. In the end, I didn’t use the Designer Series Paper, I used the specialty paper that is included in this suite, the Regal Distressed Patterns.

MATERIALS

Regal Flora Bundle / Regal Distressed Patterns Specialty Designer Series Paper / Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon Card Stock / Basic White Cardstock for stamping / Inks in Colours of your choice / WOW Gold Embossing Powder / Fluid 100 Water Colour Paper / Stampin’ Spritzer / Ink Blending Brushes and Sponge Daubers

instruction

Step 1 / Create a water colour background on Fluid 100 Water Colour Paper – 10cm x 14.3cm.

Step 2 / Adhere a strip of Regal Distressed Patterns Specialty Paper to a strip of Pretty Peacock card and adhere to the Water Colour panel. Wrap Copper Clay Linen Thread around the panel and tie in a bow at the left side.

Step 3 / Colour a panel of white and Gold Regal Distressed Patterns Specialty Paper with an ink blending brush and Lost Lagoon ink. Adhere to a panel of Pretty Peacock Card. Affix to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Step 4 / Stamp the images from Regal Flora Stamp Set onto White Card. I used Moody Mauve and Blackberry Bliss for the florals and Lost Lagoon, Summer Splash and Pretty Peacock for the leaves. The leaf sprigs are stamped with Copper Clay ink. Die cut all the pieces and adhere to a die cut circle of Lost Lagoon cardstock (I used Stylish Shapes Dies). Adhere to card front.

Step 5 / Heat emboss sentiment with AWOW gold embossing powder on Pretty Peacock card stock and trim close to words. Adhere over the flowers.

Step 6 / Add Regal Foiled Adhesive-backed Dots.

Step 7 / Adhere extra die cut flowers and leaves to inside panel.

  1. Oh yes, we used the same set but such different looks! How versatile is this set?! I love that twine bow – I wish I could one looking even close to as good as this. Also – a big fan of this sketch!

    1. Yep, I saw your card and did a little double take. The sketch makes them look so similar and yet so different! And bows, lol … my bows are the messiest ever. Usually I fuss and fiddle, but was in a hurry with this one, so it is what it is, maybe I should follow that scenario all the time! 😉

    1. Thanks so much Theresa … yes, not sure how I ended up there as it is Spring in the Southern Hemisphere. I took inspiration from the Designer Series Paper in this suite, even though I didn’t use it in the end. 🙂 xx
