Creating Kindness Blog Hop; Texture
![]()

Welcome! It is an exciting day … I am thrilled to be the Guest Designer for the Creating Kindness Design Team Blog Hop for August. The theme is to create a project for someone special using texture.
I am creating for two special people in my life. I normally get together with good friends, Grace and Michelle every year in July for some crafting, girly fun and frivolity. This year, I wasn’t able to meet up with the girls, and I have missed them. We normally create interesting backgrounds for our cardmaking projects and so I wanted to do the same for this creation.

Versamark Resist Technique
I have used the Tree Ring Background Stamp and Versamark on Gloss White card to create a resist effect. A Sponge Brayer is used to add layers of colour (Bermuda Bay and Lemon Lime Twist).
“But where is the texture?”, I hear you ask.
Can you see all that delicious “you’ve just got to touch it” gloss texture? The Tree Rings Background Stamp is stamped over the Sponge Brayered background again using Versamark and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. This creates an almost psychedelic, glossy texture over the resist background. Go on …. don’t you just want to touch it?!!!

Oh So Eclectic Stamp Set + Eclectic Layers Thinlits
The stemmed flowers from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set are a focal feature of the card and are stamped in Berry Burst and Fresh Fig inks, with the outline being clear embossed to create yet more touchy feely texture. The co-ordinating Eclectic Layers Thinlits make trimming the flowers super easy!

The greeting from Oh So Eclectic stamp set is heat embossed with White Embossing Powder onto a piece of brayered resist background (sans embossed texture) and layered over a strip of vellum. And just check out how delicious that embossing is over the Lemon Lime Twist ink! Very zesty!

The Inside Story ….
Little touches from the front of the card carry over into the inside, with the addition of a little “Missing You” sentiment stamped in Fresh Fig.

Cheryll, that is a lovely card! And a very pretty background that sets the whole theme off.
We missed not having you with us recently, but I am hoping to get down there in the near future so we can also have a play together. We have to aim for Michelle, you and me to be together sometime next year and have our girly, fun filled stamping time where we all create exciting backgrounds and then turn them into amazing cards.
