A Masculine Card for Kylie’s International Blog Highlight
![]()
Colourful Seasons … a sneak peek of one of the new Stamp Set and Die Bundles coming out in the new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalogue in June. This card has been created for Kylie’s International Blog Highlight this month …. the theme is “Masculine”.
You are able to VOTE for my project. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop and I would love it if you would vote for my card. To vote, click on the Vote For Me badge below to go to the gallery of projects – I am number 48 in the gallery! Then click on the heart in the top right corner of the picture when your mouse hovers over it. You are able to vote for your five favourites and I know the other participants would love to receive a vote from you as well. Be warned though, it will be difficult to choose your favourites.
Voting starts on 17th May and goes for five days. I have had a quick look at the gallery and there are tons of great ideas for Masculine cards … and aren’t we always looking for cards for the guys in our lives!!
And here is my entry!
The Colourful Seasons stamp set has elements for every season of the year. For Autumn, there are leaf stamps and dies, including this wonderful detailed leaf element. I haven’t really gone with a “colourful” look … instead I have used the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack for all the elements, including the leaves. This paper stack includes just about every wood texture you could imagine and is great for any masculine project.
The smaller leaves have been clear embossed onto various wood texture patterns and then die cut with the co-ordinating leaf shape. The larger leaf is two die cut elements, a solid shape die cut from a wood texture paper and the intricate die cut over the top is from Early Espresso cardstock. I added a touch of Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush over the background leaf.
And that trim? It is a new Copper Trim, and is sort of like a mesh. It is very different and the colour and subtle shimmer is divine.
The greeting is also from the Colourful Seasons stamp set and is stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink. I am loving the wide and varied fonts being used in the stamp sets out of the new catalogue.
Speaking of new catalogues, mine have arrived here and those that I have arranged to send out to customers should be starting to arrive now. If you live in Australia, don’t have a demonstrator and would like a catalogue, please let me know your mailing address by email or phone on 0438 464451

And don’t forget that when the current Annual Catalogue finishes on 31st May, the retiring products will no longer be available. Here is a link to the retiring list and if you are shopping online, don’t forget to use the May Rewards/Host code to share in the rewards at the end of the month.
Thanks for stopping by and wish me luck in the voting!
xx

This is an awesome masculine card! I love the die cut leaves from the Wood Textures DSP! Good luck in the voting!
Thanks Natalie. xxxx
I don’t understand the clear emboss? I understand embossing with cear powder. When I first read this, I thought you were saying use an emboss folder then use the clear powder? LOL! One of these days. I can’t even read right!
Hey Gloria, It is probably my bad wording … but yes, I have stamped the small solid leaves with Versamark ink pad onto different wood patterned paper, applied clear embossing powder and then heat embossed. Then I die cut the leaves with the co-ordinating die from Seasonal Layers Thinlits. xx
Great card Cheryll. Loving the embossed leaves against the wood paper.
Thank so much Jay! xxx
This card really rocks Cheryll! I love the extra dimension on the leaves. Such a cool effect xx
Oh thank you Anna! Chuffed that you have dropped by and left a comment! 🙂 xx
The way you have done the leaves is great – they look so real. I haven’t used my dies from this set yet, but I’m going to put your technique on my list of things to try
That’s great Karen! The clear embossing came about because I wanted to use the wood textures paper, but didn’t want to hide any of it. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting! 🙂 xxx
This is gorgeous, Cheryll! I love the clear embossing on the wood textures paper, very clever!
Thanks so much Sarah! xxxxx
Gorgeous card Cheryll…..I am definitely going to have to get my hands on that set now…
Thanks Vicki … it is the first time I have used this bundle, and considering it is called Colourful Seasons, my card is really not very colourful. I wanted to use the Wood Textures paper, but i can imagine the leaves cut from yellows and reds as well. Might have to try that! xx
I really, really like this masculine card! The heat embossing on the leaves makes for quite an impact!
Thanks Stephanie, I very much appreciate you stopping by and leaving such a lovely comment! xx
