Garden Gatherings are Bold and Beautiful – The Stamping Station
![]()
Garden Gatherings has been used to create Bold and Beautiful card for the Stamping Station creative team. We gather on the third Sunday of every month for an Instahop and a blog hop.

This month’s Stamping Station Blog Hop theme is Bold & Beautiful, and I chose to use up some left over waste bits to throw bright flowers, black accents and approximately one million colourful dots onto a card front. Well … slight over-exaggeration there, but A LOT of dots.
I love how this one turned out. It’s got a very retro sixties vibe.
Garden Gatherings …

I used the Garden Gatherings bundle from Stampin’ Up!® to create an over-the-top floral collage with bright vases, crammed-in blooms and bold black accents. The background was created using leftover adhesive-backed dots from a previous project — a happy little “use what is on your desk” crafting moment that became one of my favourite elements of the card.

Here are my design elements:
- Those little circles are waste from the line of circles die out of the Coneflower Celebrations die set after cutting multiples for class kits. They already had adhesive sheet on the back and I just couldn’t waste them, so they dictated the Strawberry Slush, Darling Duckling and Timid Tiger colour scheme for this card.
- The solid black layer gives a great break between the bright and busy background and the very chaotic floral arrangements on the foremost layer.
- I splattered the white layer underneath the vases with black ink, before matting it with Strawberry Slush card. I think this is my favourite element in this card.
- The Garden Gatherings vases are cut from scraps of Scenic Coast Designer Series Paper, nice and suitably bold and bright.
- The floral arrangements are big, bright and over the top! There are stamped images and die cut pieces in the mix and I deliberately went for a bold, in your face look because the dots might have taken over otherwise.
- Strawberry Slush or black adhesive gems would have been perfect for the flower centres, but my stash of embellishments is severely depleted just lately, so I used the “go with anything” clear Dewdrops Embellishments.
- The sentiment is white heat embossed on black card.
- And the little add on sentiment in the tag is “Hi Friend” from the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set (sadly now retired, but any small sentiment would work) and the adorable little tag die from Layers of Beauty Dies (Last Chance List).

So I think I nailed the “BOLD”, but what about the “BEAUTIFUL” ?

I am excited to see how the Stamping Station team have interpreted this theme … hop all the way through the entire blog hop list to check out all the creativity. I am off to check them out now … don’t forget to leave comments as you go. We love comments so we know you are out there and looking at our creations.
See you next month!
xx Cheryll

Well! This is just magnificent! Inspired genius idea with the dotted background – and your patience is admirable. That riout of bright blooms is so cheerful and made all the more so by that carefully placed black panelling. Brilliant!
