Sunshine Vibes Bundle … part of the Boho Vibes Suite Collection on pages 61-63 of the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalogue.

Welcome once again to Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop, travelling around the world through every time zone. You may be starting your trip Around the World here or you may have come from the blog of amazing artist Rochelle Laird-Smith. Always excited to see what Rochelle has created.
Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop is the brainchild of Angie McKenzie, a wonderful friend and amazing paper artist. My name is Cheryll Miller, and I am so delighted to be a part of this varied and talented group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators.
Tic Tac Toe …

This month we are challenged to create using a Tic Tac Toe grid. How does this work? Choose three of the grid items in a row, either acrossways horizontally, vertically or on the diagonal (so a total of 8 choices), and use those grid items somewhere in your creation.
To be honest, I was so focused on case’ing Aurélie (see below), that I almost forgot to follow a particular line, but managed to pull it together at the end with the addition of a sneaky “shadow layer” and some “bold” gems to go with “metallic”.
In celebration of our 5th year, we are continuing with a series of “team member focus” blog hops where we will be CAS(e)ing an individual team member for that blog hop. Our team member focus this month is the fabulous Aurélie Fabre from France! Aurélie is a fabulous paper artist with a flair for creating projects with style and pizzazz. Aurélie has an extensive online gallery of projects to choose from, and so I chose three different projects from past AWOW hops and took elements from all of them to create my card. Here are the three projects I chose from Aurélie’s blog, Atour du Papier.

Sunshine Vibes Bundle …
Can I tell you about my whacky way of creating? Usually I decide on which product I want to use as the main feature well ahead of time, and that way I can schedule my blog post and create at my leisure before the hop goes live. I had already chosen the Sunshine Vibes bundle as it is new and needs to be used.
Aurélie does use a great variety of products, and I love that she has a similar trait to me in not being afraid to pull in elements from multiple different sets and suites. But I really love Aurélie’s exuberant layering, especially the florals or foliage and I was drawn to her Autumnal colour combos also. So using the Sunshine Vibes suite in this way was bit of a challenge … how on earth do you layer up a rainbow in Autumnal shades?

I knew I wanted the rainbow pieces from Sunshine Vibes as my focus … this is the first time I had played with this bundle, so I diecut it all in Basic White to work out how it all laid out. I then coloured up the white detailed pieces with a blending brush and Basic Beige, Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana, Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock, emulating the greens and earth tones in card No 2. I layered them onto the plain white rainbow pieces and then on a Basic Beige panel cut from Basic Beige with some Pretty in Peacock ink shading to create an earthly “shadow” at the base of the panel.

I love how Aurélie used the Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder in white for a background, so did the same adding some Lost Lagoon and Wink of Stella splattering.
And for foliage, the Sunshine Vibes die set doesn’t have a lot in the way of foliage, so I used the two curved leafy looking dies to cut some foliage type layers out of Nature’s Sweetness Speciality DSP. I noticed that Aurélie had used this paper in a couple of her card designs, and it added that pop of “metallic” I needed for my grid line. (PS, this lovely paper is on the Last Chance list in the South Pacific).
Some of the leaves are in Textured Metallic Gold card and then just to add a different shape, I cut some of the curved squiggles out of white cardstock and cut them in half to add to the foliage sprays.

I had added Coastal Cabana ink to the mix to brighten the rainbow up a bit, so needed another Coastal Cabana element. I added a die cut in the same shape as the Basic Beige rectangle slightly offset, creating another “shadow”.
Now I was just left with “bold” to finish off the line. The sentiment was white embossed on Pretty Peacock card … sort of “bold” … could I get a way with it? But in the end, I found the “Loose Frosted Dots” had very dark Pretty Peacock embellishments which added a bold pop of colour across the card. And the Daffodil Delight dots also tied in.

So what do you think? Did I do enough to meet the Tic Tac Toe Challenge? Will Aurélie like this take on her style. Just a little aside, one of my fave Aurélie cards was the one she created Case’ing me with the mushrooms. I hope she likes this rainbow creation as much as I loved hers.
This is the Around the World on Wednesday design team! I am very excited to see everyone’s projects this month and check out how we are all Tic Tac Toe’ing around the world … oh and to see everyone’s CAS(e) of Aurélie’s work.

Click through each team member’s blog for loads of inspiration ….
Next up we are are going to take a trip all the way across the ocean to Marga Bultena in Nederlands.. that’s quite a hop … Marga is amazing … that could be Marga’s new nickname “the Amazing Marga” 🙂 ‘coz she really is.
I am going to grab a cuppa and check out all the projects … and get prepared to be inspired.

Totally fabulous, as always. I’m impressed at the way you’ve managed to layer and to add texture while still retaining a clean look. Also impressive was taking three projects from Aurelie and still create something that shows the essence of her work.
thanks so much Jan … this took way longer than it should, but I was thrilled with the result. xx
So, so pretty!! I love the whimsical look of the rainbow paired with the elegant card. Great CASE of Aurelie’s card! My favorite colors!!
Thanks so much Cheryll … yes a whimsical rainbow! xx
So beautiful! I love the color palette you used and am inspired to get back to my craft room and use this bundle.
Thanks Teri, this is the first time I have used this bundle and I am inspired to try the many variations offered in the set.
I’m so excited about this one. This bundle is new to my craft room and your rainbow interpretation is fabulous inspiration! I love your color choices and the detailed leaflet pieces!
Thanks Chris .. yes, so much you can do with this set and I am excited too to try out all the variations.
Amazing CASE and project! I did the exact same thing you did –got my card made after CASEing Aurélie, and then realized I forgot to Tic-Tac-Toe! Luckily, Shadow, Texture, Circle was a thing. Ha! Gorgeous project and I love your use of the Sunshine Vibes bundle too.
lol we are so alike, yes Angie chose the Tic Tac Toe grid well, and when I saw the dark Pretty Peacock Loose Frosted Dots, it completed the grid line beautifully. Whew!! Not sure what I would have done if I couldn’t make the grid work with my project! 😉 xxxx
