Gilded Leafing plus Tasteful Touches for Colour INKspiration Challenge #95
Gilded Leafing creates a background for watercoloured tiles stamped with Tasteful Touches stamp set for Colour INKspiration Challenge #95
Welcome to my blog. It’s Colour INKspiration challenge CI#95 and the inspiration pic for this challenge is exotic and beautiful.
Tasteful Touches plus Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Blackberry Bliss and Gold
These were fun colours to work with, and I love this image so much, I have totally vibed my card from not only the colours but the image itself.
First step was to create the “tile” effect. There is a die in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies which has all the exotic curves, and I really like the dappled effect in the inspiration pic, so I watercolour washed some Fluid 100 watercolour paper in each of the challenge colours. Once I had die cut a heap of the labels, I used the textural elements from Tasteful Touches stamp set to add patterns to each “tile”.
For the gold element, I have used the Gilded Leafing Flakes. I applied some of the Adhesive Sheet to a panel of Basic White Thick cardstock and after removing the backing layer, the exposed adhesive grabbed the Gilded Leafing perfectly. I ended up with a couple of areas where the adhesive was patchy, and sponging a very light layer of Liquid Adhesive to these areas and then letting them get “tack dry” made filling the patches so easy. This is really stunning stuff.
The sentiment comes from the Simply Succulents stamp set and I gold embossed it twice onto two different scraps of the watercoloured card before trimming out by hand. A little wrap of gold twine, and some co-ordinating layers, finish the card off.
I created this card live in Facebook … click here to watch the live.
