Creating Kindness Design Team Blog Hop – January’s theme is Outer Space
Little Twinkle Stamp Set.
Welcome to the Creating Kindness Design Team Blog Hop for January, the first of 2020. My name is Cheryll Miller, and I am so delighted to hop with this fabulous group of artists each month. We have a different and exciting theme this month, “Outer Space”. Our guest designer this month is Sharni Haines and you can find her at Stampin’ at the Maples.
To check out all the Design Team Member’s projects for this fun theme, check out the blog line up at the end of this post. Here is a teaser!!
Little Twinkle Stamp Set
So this was a little bit of a struggle for me as I searched through my stamp sets for something “outer space”. The Little Twinkle Stamp Set is about the closest I could get. Moon, stars … that works yeh?
Now this card may not be technically “outer space”, but it is a little bit “not from this planet”. It is certainly the most “out there” baby card I have ever created!
If I had not needed to make this card twice (that is a whole other story), it would have been the easiest card and came together really quickly!!
I totally cheated with the delicious interstellar background … it is one of the designs from the See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper. I white embossed the Congratulations greeting from the Little Twinkle Stamp Set into the bottom right corner. The Moon and Stars are punched from Silver Glimmer paper using the Twinkle Builder Punch and then adhered onto the designer series paper.
Now comes the fun part …. I was so totally inspired by an amazing Christmas Card I received from Jay and Barry at Mitosu Crafts. I would post a pic but I am out to dinner. They had covered designer series paper with glittery embossing powder. So I covered the whole of the Designer Series Paper with Versamark and then clear embossing powder. Pretty but not glassy enough. So another layer of Versamark and clear embossing powder, then a little sprinkle of Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter … not much, just the tiniest sprinkle … to make the Milky Way. I heated it from the back this time until the glitter was melted a little bit.
So pretty … so touchy feely!!!!
So gotta run … dinner smells divine! Enjoy the projects from the Creating Kindness Design Team!
