Timeless Tropical for Colour INKspiration #69

The Timeless Tropical Bundle is a Cling Stamp Set and Die combination in the new and upcoming 2020 Mini Catalogue from Stampin’ Up!

Welcome to my blog … today’s project has been created for the last Colour INKspiration challenge for 2019 – Colour INKspiration #69.

Colour INKspiration 69

This challenge group features a bevy of talented Australia and New Zealand demonstrators who hop monthly, however the challenge is open to any Stampin’ Up! ® enthusiasts who love to share their papercraft projects using the Pinterest inspired colour combinations provided.

In addition to the challenge colours, you can freely use Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, metallics and skin-tone blends. If you don’t have the exact challenge colours, you can substitute with your nearest-to colours. This is a really simple challenge to enter, just create and post into the group on facebook!

What a pretty colour combination …..

Gorgeous Grape, Whisper White, Mint Macaron and Grapefruit Grove

Timeless Tropical

This is such a wonderful suite of products in the new Mini Catalogue. There is something so tropical about Hibiscus, Frangipani and Pineapples. The gorgeous Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder is part of the suite and it is AMAZING!!!

For my project today, I have used Whisper White as the base card, and also to emboss a panel with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder.

Grapefruit Grove and Gorgeous Grape have been used to watercolour the petals of the Hibiscus Flower. Colleen tells me that the stamen of the Hibiscus is always either yellow or the same colour as the flower, and I bow to Colleen’s greater horticultural knowledge!!

Mint Macaron is incorporated easily by colouring the leaves. And Mint Macaron cardstock has been used to die cut the fernery in the background … which is the intricate tree die from another upcoming product, the Majestic Mountain dies.

Shimmery White cardstock has been used for the Hibiscus Flower and leaves as it handles the watercolour well, but also retains all the detail in the stamped image.

I didn’t have a lot of room left for a greeting with all this foliage about the place, so the single word small “hello” from the Timeless Tropical Set was perfect. It is italic, so cutting the little strip at an angle each end works well with the slant of the letters and also gives a slightly different look.

Majestic Mountain Dies

As soon as I die cut my first intricate tree from this new set of dies available in January, I thought of fern fronds. And the Hibiscus is not only large enough to be in proportion, ferns and hibiscus just go together! To make the ferns more “bendy”, I have snipped the foliage down one side of the die cut, adhered the ferns into the centre of the card with glue dots, and then gently “bent” the fronds before adhering the tip of the tree into place with another glue dot.
