This month the theme is “Change of Life Circumstances”.  The biggest change in my life was certainly the birth of my daughter … by far the best change of life circumstance for me and a huge learning curve.  I have a second grandchild due in November, which is very exciting and that will certainly mean big changes for all the family.

So I have created a baby card in preparation for the new arrival.

Pick a Pattern Baby Card

Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper has the cutest little woodland animals included in one of the designs. I have fussy cut a selection and made them a feature on this card.

Pick a Pattern Critters

Let’s have a closer look.  Cutting each individual critter is time consuming and my advice is to use a good pair of scissors with a fine point like the Stampin’ Up! Paper Snips.

Pick a Pattern Critters Real Close

I used Powder Pink spots in the background, which is from Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper, and the circular piece is die cut from one of the designs from Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper using Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Pick a Pattern Baby Card

The greeting “Hello, Baby …” is from the Baby Bear Stamp Set, stamped in Soft Sky. The texture on the banner in the background is stamped using the Burlap background stamp and Soft Sky ink. And the cute little row of diecut hearts is from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits dies using Calypso Coral cardstock.

The Inside Story Pick a Pattern

I have carried the design over to the inside of the card.

The variety in the highlight entries this month promise to be varied, there are so many life changing circumstances to choose from. Check them all out here and vote for your favourite five. As always, I would love it if you would vote for my card! Click on the button below, which takes you to the gallery, I am in spot 6. Hover over my card until the grey heart turns red and then click to vote. Note that voting won’t start until 19th October. 🙂

  1. Hi, Cheryll, Congratulations on the waiting of the special happy mail, coming to you in November. The birth of a child what a special time, and it is your second grandchild, you are so blessed.
I am like wow, you used this and wow where did these little critters come from, so eagerly reading through your blog. I admire you on your art, now I have babies coming out of my ear holes so to speak, none mine. Baby Cards are the flavour of the month for me, but not having this DSP nor come to think of it do I think of cutting the images from DSP. Thank you for this, you have challenged me to work out of my tiny square.
The card is simply gorgeous, puts a smile on the face as soon as you look at those adorable critters. xxx

    1. Thanks so much Christine … it was a labour of love cutting out these little critters, but I know they will be loved by my three year old granddaughter, even if the new one is a little too “new” to appreciate it! 🙂 xxx
