And it is a beauty! Loving the modern, on trend stamp sets and project kits. If you don’t yet have a catalogue and don’t currently have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I would be more than happy to send one out to you, along with the Sale-A-Bration catalogue where you can earn free product … send me a quick email or leave a comment (look right, pink boxes, click on speech bubble) to arrange.
One of my favourite sets from the Occasions Catalogue is “Sheltering Tree” on page 22. It is a photopolymer set of 14 stamps, and the clear photopolymer is great for assembling the images easily to create a multitude of wonderful “scenes”.
This card created with the set is a little bit whimsical … not your typical tree colours! Melon Mambo cardstock makes for a happy, bright card.
The tree branches and sweep of shadow underneath are stamped in Melon Mambo ink. I have embossed the leaves with White Embossing Powder. Stamping the leaves over the tree branches is a breeze with the Photopolymer. Tip: wipe over the cardstock with the Embossing Buddy before stamping the leaves with Versamark Ink. This will stop any embossing powder flecks sticking anywhere they shouldn’t! If you are not sure on how to heat emboss, leave a comment (click on the little speech bubble in the bright pink squares at the top right of post) and I will send you a quick tutorial.
The set has four lovely “feel good” wording stamps, and I have simply stamped mine in Melon Mambo on Whisper White Card Stock and trimmed out with scissors. I also used Whisper White Bakers Twine and my trusty Essentials Piercing Template to finish off the card. I used dimensionals to pop up the greeting over the Baker’s Twine.
You might notice that my embossed leaves have a linen textured look in places. This is because my Melon Mambo ink pad is the old hard pad style (which has a linen texture). The new polymer stamps pick up any texture (which makes for some great techniques, but that is a whole other post). Stampin’ Up Ink Pads are now made with a softer foam, and you won’t have this problem with the Polymer stamps when using the newer style Stampin’ Up! ink pads.
