Hmm … you will either love this card or hate it! No in betweens with this one!
Personally I LOVE it! The riot of colour is just so much like South Australia in Spring. There are amazing colours in every garden.
The flowers from the “Bloom with Hope” set have all been stamped separately, I did a LOT of masking! I stamped them all in different colours with Stampin’ Up Classic inks. These are water based dye inks, so I was then able to use my waterbrush and just pull some of the colour in each flower from the outline into the petals of the flowers. The effect is sort of reminiscent of a patterned fabric. I used bright colours (Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, Island Indigo and a little bit of Earl Espresso for depth). The little bit of doily has been inked up directly with the Rich Razzleberry ink pad … for a softer look, create a misting spray using reinker and rubbing alcohol in a mister and spritz the doily. I then sprayed the coloured doily with some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz for just a little bit of shine. The greeting comes from “Kinda Eclectic” stamp set finished off with a little swirl of linen thread, and of course the butterflies are the Beautiful Wings embosslits.
To add a little bit of interest to the Island Indigo layer, I stamped it using the Island Indigo ink with “Hardwood”, such a versatile background stamp. I have stitched my layers together before mounting the whole shebang to the card front with dimensionals.
The masking was a little bit fiddly, but the end result is so worth it. Let me know if this one is a thumbs up for you! And if you would like to learn how to mask images to create this effect, just let me know!
